Cham Kiu

Master James Sinclair, the founder and Chief Instructor of the prestigious UK Wing Chun Kung Fu Assoc. will be conducting a Cham Kiu MasterClass.  The seminar is a very detailed event and will reveal the many common misconceptions that lead to a poor understanding and application of Wing Chun in real situations.  The Cham Kiu form is known as the 'Bridge' and it is within this form that the true efficiency and reality of Wing Chun skill is held. The Cham Kiu is commonly known as the 'Second Form' of Wing Chun Kuen and it is vitally important to full understand the concepts hidden within in order to fully comprehend and apply the skills of this superb close range combat Art. As is common n these events, the places are filling fast and it is recommended that you confirm your place first. The seminar will be held at the UK Wing Chun Assoc. From one extreme to another. (Sparring to Fancy Art) The beautiful 'Art' of Wing Chun Kuen has long had the challenge of training the Hong Jong or Empty Dummy. Quite a challenge to do well, it forms a part of the UKWCKFA 5th Grading syllabus. Only 4 people have ever taken and passed this grading. Many students have completed the formal art through to the Butterfly Knives, but don't wish to take any gradings beyond the 2nd test. The UKWCKFA is rare in that we only have two gradings that are required to learn the complete Art. The rest are personal challenges. ... See MoreSee Less

We noticed the longer video clips are not proving popular. Very few of you demonstrate the stamina to last more than a few minutes. As a result we are trialling this shorter extract (from a recent zoom presentation), and will gauge your feedback. Please feel free to let us know what you prefer in the comments. And on a SERIOUS MATTER....If you mysteriously find that you enjoy this material, despite trying really hard not to... please take that extra step and push the 'LIKE BUTTON. It is just the modern way of saying 'thank you', and manners cost nothing. In this clip from a recent live zoom session James Sinclair was discussing his experience with using the elbows. Some of this clip was relating to the Cham Kiu theories too, not just striking. This is but a tiny fragment form a far longer discussion, so please accept that it is easy to take this out of context and it may leave you with more quiestions..... That is not a bad thing, talk to your teachers!!!! All teachers love to be asked questions in class.
