FREE PERSONAL SAFETY SEMINARS

‘HOW NOT TO BE A VICTIM’

In 2006 the UKWCKFA celebrated its 21st Anniversary by offering FREE seminars to the public on self defence.

On October 17th 2015 the UKWCKFA will be 30 years old and as part of our way of saying thank you for your support over the years we are again offering free self defence seminars for the students, their family and general public alike.

Most people in today’s world are very cynical and believe we must be trying to get something from it. We can assure you we are not. The self defence seminars are one off events, they are NOT martial art classes. We believe that martial arts is the last part of self defence and the least important if you wish to avoid trouble developing and stay safe.

In 2006 we offered classes only to women as we felt that was appropriate based on the enquiries we had received at the time. Now we are offering these events to ANYONE who feels that it may of interest. It would be great if whole families came along!

We will be discussing

  • Awareness, Alchohol, Avoidance
  • Car Jacking, Road Rage, Car Parks
  • Robbery, Mugging, Child Abduction
  • Rape, Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence
  • Workplace and School Bullying.

As you can see we are NOT dealing with the physical fight stage as this cannot be taught in a one off seminar, and those that lead you to believe you can are not telling the truth. we will help you with:

  • Verbal Communication and tricks
  • Eye Contact
  • Body Language
  • Posture and Gait
  • Environmental Elements
  • Escapes
  • The LAW and where YOU stand

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Some of the content you may feel is inappropriate for younger persons so please feel free to discuss anything with us before the events. We are available to try and help in any way we can. We can assure you we will approach the class in a manner appropriate to those in attendance.

There is so much more to this than we have briefly outlined above. Everybody want to have a better life, to be healthy and well educated. Personal safety is an area not dealt with well installs or household discussions. We hope we can correct that imbalance and that you will not only learn a lot but enjoy the manner of presentation.

Please not you will not simply sit down and listen you will have the chance to work with each other and make the room a discussion area.

If you are interested you must contact us, as our National HQ is quite small and we hope these events will be well attended.

From one extreme to another. (Sparring to Fancy Art) The beautiful 'Art' of Wing Chun Kuen has long had the challenge of training the Hong Jong or Empty Dummy. Quite a challenge to do well, it forms a part of the UKWCKFA 5th Grading syllabus. Only 4 people have ever taken and passed this grading. Many students have completed the formal art through to the Butterfly Knives, but don't wish to take any gradings beyond the 2nd test. The UKWCKFA is rare in that we only have two gradings that are required to learn the complete Art. The rest are personal challenges. ... See MoreSee Less

We noticed the longer video clips are not proving popular. Very few of you demonstrate the stamina to last more than a few minutes. As a result we are trialling this shorter extract (from a recent zoom presentation), and will gauge your feedback. Please feel free to let us know what you prefer in the comments. And on a SERIOUS MATTER....If you mysteriously find that you enjoy this material, despite trying really hard not to... please take that extra step and push the 'LIKE BUTTON. It is just the modern way of saying 'thank you', and manners cost nothing. In this clip from a recent live zoom session James Sinclair was discussing his experience with using the elbows. Some of this clip was relating to the Cham Kiu theories too, not just striking. This is but a tiny fragment form a far longer discussion, so please accept that it is easy to take this out of context and it may leave you with more quiestions..... That is not a bad thing, talk to your teachers!!!! All teachers love to be asked questions in class.
