Siu Nim Tao Grading

The UKWCKFA has only two compulsory gradings. These were instigated to separate beginners, intermediates and advanced level classes. After that all gradings are voluntary and you will complete the rest of the formal ‘Art’ in time regardless of whether or not you wish to test yourself. The UKWCKFA has only two compulsory gradings to move through classes. The Siu Nim Tao grading allows students to move to the advanced classes.

Big ‘Congratulations’ to all of the students who took part in the 2nd Level grading known as the Siu Nim Tao grading. There was a great class camaraderie. The students who came to watch were inspired to push forward and enjoyed it immensely.

Rayleigh

Well done to Steve Hunt who proved that age is not the great barrier that many fear. At 60 yrs of age and with only a couple of years in training he succeeded in passing the test, and with a smile. He also was responsible for pulling his classmates together by using the National HQ, when it was free, to meet up for extra practice. http://www.rayleighwingchun.co.uk

Maidstone

Another ‘Well done’ to Darren Sumpton of the Maidstone Wing Chun School as he succeeded in gaining a ‘Distinction Pass’ of 82.5% well earned and a testament to his teacher Mark Blackbourne.

Sidcup

John Cossentine Sifu who runs the Sidcup Wing Chun school managed to successfully get his two candidates through this demanding grading. Well done to Owen Bradnock and Patrick Cotton. Go to http://www.kentwingchun.net for more info

It has been a little while since we last posted anything. Thank you for your patience. As mentioned previously, it is a thankless task to create these videos for Facebook. If you do find yourself strangely enjoying them, please take the time to hit the like button. Or, you may chose to really exert yourself and follow us. The more feedback and follows we receive, the more inclined we may be to continue to post regularly.We are currently discussing the fighting applications of the Wooden Dummy. It has proven very enlightening to many of our subscribers, even to those who have trained for decades. It has resulted in some great material that has to be edited, slowing down anything we do for this page. This is a short extract from a 'HUGE' discussion on #wingchun Gworr Sau from back in the Summer. This is a longer clip, which we hope will be of some interest, to some people. One simply can't please all of the people all of the time..... Please accept this is just a tiny insight into the subject, and as such is open too easily to misinterpretation. Each one of our #ukwckfa 'episodes' on Gworr Sau is over 40 minutes in length and we have 8 of these this year.It is not our intention to offend your intelligence or your amazing Wing Chun skills, these are only discussions! Wow 17th October 1985, the #ukwckfa was founded 40 years ago! We have touched thousands lives. We can only hope it has had a positive impact on some, and is at least fondly remembered by others.
